Petrouschka

Petrouschka is a restaged part of the ballet Petrouschka (1911). In my contemporary version, the principal character is an African-American woman who performs a leadership position in a corporate environment while simultaneously finding herself ostracized by inhumane communication using technology. The concept of the choreography is that the body is always situated in a specific cultural space, simultaneously emanating from it while also subverting its established cultural and political frameworks.

Music of Igor Stravinsky performed live by Frank Wolpi and John Anderson (4 hands on one piano)
