Lagrimas Negras

This work stages and explores gestures of seduction, attachment, and abandonment, and their accompanying relations of dominance and submission. It does so through multiple echoes, contexts, and references to race, gender, and colonial history. The movement mirrors the racial component of being a mulata through the hybridity of contemporary theatrical and Afro Cuban dance.
