A Portagayola

This choreography reimagines one of the central gestures of the corrida: the awaiting, on bended knees, for the coming of the bull through the arena gate. In this work, time is suspended in a singular mode, the anticipation of the unforeseeable future. A specific eroticism is conjured up not only through the dimension of temporal tension but also through the staging of the costumes and the coloration of Lorca green, ‘verde que te quiero verde’.
